Construction Career Days provides high school students with a unique opportunity to explore careers in construction, engineering, architecture, skilled trades, project management, and related industries through hands-on activities and direct interaction with industry professionals.

Hosted through the Building Futures Partnership between Pima Community College and the University of Arizona, this two-day event is designed to inspire students, introduce educational pathways, and connect them with future career opportunities.

What Students Will Experience

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Operate and interact with construction equipment

  • Participate in hands-on demonstrations and activities

  • Explore careers in skilled trades and professional disciplines

  • Engage with construction industry professionals

  • Learn about apprenticeships, certifications, workforce training, and college pathways

  • Discover careers in engineering, architecture, construction management, safety, surveying, mining, and emerging technologies

Who Should Attend?

Construction Career Days is open to:

  • High school students (grades 9–12)

  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs

  • STEM programs

  • College and career readiness programs

  • JTED and workforce development programs

  • Student organizations interested in construction, engineering, technology, and skilled trades

Registration Information

School registration is required for attendance.

To ensure a safe and successful experience, schools must:

  • Complete the online registration form

  • Provide an estimated student count

  • Identify a primary school contact

  • Ensure appropriate chaperone supervision

  • Submit any required transportation and permission documentation

Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transportation Support

Transportation assistance may be available for qualifying schools through sponsorship support and workforce development funding. Schools interested in transportation assistance should indicate their need during registration.

Teacher & Chaperone Information

Teachers and chaperones play an important role in ensuring students have a positive experience. Registered schools will receive:

  • Event logistics and arrival instructions

  • Site maps and schedules

  • Safety information and event expectations

  • Chaperone guidance and resources
