Help Build the Future of Southern Arizona's Workforce

The Building Futures Partnership brings together Pima Community College, the University of Arizona, and industry and community partners to strengthen pathways into construction and the built environment.

Southern Arizona Construction Career Days puts that mission into action. Students explore careers through hands-on activities, equipment demonstrations, and conversations with the professionals who build and maintain our communities. Industry partners make those experiences possible.

Why Participate?

Help students discover the opportunities within your industry and see themselves pursuing those careers.

Your participation connects students with real people, practical skills, and educational pathways. It also gives your organization an opportunity to share its work, introduce careers that students may not know about, and contribute to the region’s future workforce.

Ways to Get Involved

  • Become a sponsor. Support the resources and coordination needed to bring students and industry together.

  • Lead a hands-on activity. Give students an opportunity to build, operate, test, or solve something alongside your team.

  • Host an industry information table. Introduce your organization, explain career pathways, and share information about training, apprenticeships, and employment.

  • Contribute equipment, materials, or services. Help provide the tools and support that make the event possible.

  • Volunteer. Assist with setup, registration, PPE distribution, lunch, general event support, or dismissal.

Make an Investment in Career Exploration

Sponsorship contributions support event operations, hands-on learning, and safety measures, helping schools throughout Southern Arizona participate.

Whether through financial support or in-kind contributions, your organization helps students experience the industry beyond the classroom.

Review the sponsorship packet for available levels, recognition benefits, and contribution options. Contact the planning committee to discuss an opportunity that fits your organization.

Bring Your Industry to Life

The most memorable activities give students something to do—and a career connection to take with them.

Past experiences have included welding, masonry, electrical activities, mini excavators, truck-driving simulators, home construction, and engineering challenges. Activities can introduce a single skill or demonstrate how several careers contribute to a completed project.

As you plan your experience, consider:

  • What can students safely try themselves?

  • What will they learn about your work?

  • Which careers, skills, or training pathways can your team introduce?

  • How will you keep students engaged as groups move through the event?

The planning committee can help you develop an activity and identify space, equipment, and safety needs.
